Bakers bring home 3 points

By User 3109882

Bakers returned to Dagenham with 3 points on Saturday following a long trip through Essex.

Having 9 players away may seem a struggle but Micky expressed the confidence in the squad and this was something the management team concentrated on in pre season. Learning from last season and being caught short of players through availability in March and April, Micky and his team made sure the squad was stronger than ever and Saturday this paid off, here are Micky's comments following the result.

" What did you think of the performance and how did you think the team shaped up"

" Firstly I am very happy with the football we played being able to mix it up is something I was concerned about having put this 11 together at the last minute and with players playing out of position, to get the squad through the day this shows to us that the team are willing to give to not only get the victory on the day but play an attractive style of football. Our second goal is one of the best goals I have seen us score and was a very good pattern of play. Special mentions to Craig and Elliot who did a brilliant job playing out of position, Ell's again coming up with another goal. The work rate and resilience shown from the side in the last 20 minutes was exactly what we want to see. The lads are learning how to defend when waves of attacks come which is starting to show and on another day we would have cracked and come away with a point. The lads on the bench came on and did exactly what was asked and give us another headache now for Tuesday night's game. Huge respect to Cliff and his team, they're going to cause problems for lots of sides. It was good to see Cliff after so long and look forward to welcoming him down at our ground. Gramps was happy he has sent me a long whatsapp of how the choice of music on the coach was not his cup of tea but how the players efforts and style of play was something that will keep him smiling until Tuesday."
